Firefighter Royce Glen Vogel, age 25, of the Bossier City Fire Department died on September 5, 1963 from exposure to lethal gases during a rescue in an underground sewer lift station.
Royce is survived by his wife Joyce; three daughters Cheryl, Karen, and Teresa; his parent Mr. and Mrs. Sauls; brother W.F. Sauls; sister Gloria McGowen; and maternal grandmother Mrs. H.F. McNeely.
