Roll of Honor

Firefighter/Paramedic
Age: 37
Year of Death: 2022

Sean R. Tyler

Sean R. Tyler was born on July 6, 1984, and lost his courageous battle with occupational-related cancer on June 20, 2022. He was a fourth-generation firefighter, having followed in the footsteps of his maternal great-grandfather, maternal grandfather, father, and numerous uncles and cousins.

He received his associate degree in fire science and paramedic from Hocking College and a registered nursing license from Lorain County Community College. He was a member of Tiffin Firefighters Local 322 and was involved in the Responder Exposure Assistance and Care Team (REACT) program. On his days off from the Tiffin fire station, he served as a registered nurse in the emergency rooms at Mercy Health-Tiffin and Mercy Health-Willard hospitals. Sean loved children, and his favorite patients were infants and the elderly.

After his retirement, Sean volunteered to coach in the Norwalk Buckeye Youth Football Conference, served as classroom “mom” at his children’s school, and volunteered at the Norwalk-area food bank. He was proud to have earned his Eagle Scout

Family meant everything to Sean. He leaves behind his wife, Ashley, and three young children, Paxton, Oakley, and Hudson.
