Stephen G. Harrell

Stephen G. Harrell‚ 44‚ lieutenant‚ FDNY‚ Ladder 10. Harrell’s 15-year career included stints in Brooklyn with Ladder 122‚ Engine 255‚ and Ladder 157. An accomplished musician and composer‚ he played saxophone‚ clarinet‚ horns and the piano. Before the birth of his daughter‚ he played in rock and roll bands. He was also a member of the New York City Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps. His brother‚ Harvey‚ also died at the World Trade Center.

  4. While on a trip to York City last week I visited the 9/11 memorial and noticed a white rose to remember Stephen on his Birthday. I was prompted to find out more and came across this site. My respects go to Stephen, his brother all other firefighters who were lost.

  5. My 12 year old daughter and I attended the 9/11 stair climb in Thomasville, Georgia today (9-11-19). I picked Lt. Stephen Harrell’s lanyard and ID. It was interesting to find out about his musical ability and love for music! Sending a sincere thank you to his family for supporting his career as a fire fighter. He died a hero and we will never forget his or any of the other sacrifices made that day. God bless your family and peace be with you.
