  5. Steven,
Today I found a beautiful cut out of paper, something stuck in an old mirror in my parent’s basement. It was something from my girl scout troop years ago and it spoke of you and your commitment to your family and your job. It made me so sad to think of your family losing you, but I was glad to learn about you and your heroism. Thank you for your sacrifice and God bless those you left behind.

  6. I participated in the Wichita KS 2017 Stair Climb on September 9, 2017. It was my first ever climb, and I was given a badge with your name on it. It was an honor to climb on your behalf. I researched your name and after getting some background knowledge, it inspired me to push through the struggle of wanting to give up, but I was able to prevail and successfully accomplish my climb.

God Bless you and your family!!!

  7. Mr. Olsen, I happened to be walking by Driggs Street, which has a commemorating sign with your name on it. In the nearly 27 years since 9/11, I thought guy of the sustained loss your family must feel everyday. I’m sorry for their loss and I retroactively thank you for your service.

Your life was not lost in vain, ay Kraft with me. I played a significant role as an engineer in rebuilding GZ, and those projects were the keystone of my career. I just retired and again thank you for your service.

  8. Just wanted to let you know Steven Olson is not forgotten. He isn’t just a name or number listed on a Memorial wall. Today in San Diego Ca I took part in a fund raiser for all the brave men and women whose lives were so tragically taken on that 9/11. I walked 110 flights of stairs in honor of Steven Olson. What a privilege to do a small thing to keep the memory of Steven alive. Prayers and blessings to his family and his firehouse family.

  9. Hello Steven’s family:
I climbed on Saturday 9/22/18, in Green Bay, WI at Lambeau Field carrying a badge in honor of Steven. This was my first climb, but certainly not my last. There were 2700+ climbers with me and at least 7 others carrying a badge in his honor.
I am sorry for your loss and cannot image all you have been through over the years. Please know that I thank him and every firefighter for their service, daily. If I ever get to NYC, I will be planning a visit to Ladder 3.
God Bless you and keep you safe,
    Mickey O’Malley

  12. Thank you for everything you have done. I had the honor of representing you during a stair climb in Provo, UT for the 20th anniversary of 9/11. It was one of the greatest honors of my life. Afterwards, I took some time reading about what your family and friends have written about you and I can say that the world truly lost a great soul that day. Although the world should seem just a bit darker without your light, your sacrifice amplifies the light in your friends and family, and even strangers, who will always remember you.

    Always remember. Never Forget.
