When a firefighter dies in the line of duty, life changes forever for the surviving family members. For adult survivors of firefighters who have been honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial, the Foundation hosts the Fire Service Survivors Conference. The four-day conference includes workshops related to grief, wellness, self-care, and practical skills. Attendees spend time getting to know one another in small groups, during meals, and on evening outings.

The conferences are held in different locations each year with lodging and meals provided through a grant from the Department of Justice and the generosity of Foundation supporters. The 2015 conference will be held in Annapolis, MD.
