Emma has chosen to pursue her degree in elementary education based upon things that impacted her and shaped her life. Losing her dad at the age of 11, she struggled with finding an effective coping mechanism. Over the ensuing years, with the support of her family, she realized she wanted to live her life in a way to make her dad proud based upon a good faith life and feels she can achieve that by helping children receive an education.

Emma personifies the meaning of student-athlete. She excels in the classroom and on the softball field, proving that obstacles are simply roadblocks to be broken. She knows obtaining her degree will help her give back to children and help strengthen her local community school.
