Gabriella Ambelias is attending the University of Tampa and pursuing a degree in Actuary Science. After changing her major from nursing, she found a career path that better matched her passion for mathematics and problem-solving. She is committed to building a successful future while honoring the legacy of her father, fallen firefighter Matt Ambelas.
Gabriella is involved in both school and community activities. She participates in her university’s crypto club, tutors students in math, and helps support an autistic adult with daily tasks. She is also involved with Autism Warriors, where she helps plan events for autistic young adults.
Her references describe Gabriella as hardworking, compassionate, and resilient. Retired firefighter George Gulliksen praised her maturity and positive attitude, while her supervisor, Philip Solimeo, highlighted her academic ability, leadership, and dedication to helping others. Both strongly recommend her for this scholarship.
