Scholarship Recipient

Gabrielle Eck

Major: Accounting
Academic Scholarship Years:
Daughter of
Gabrielle Eck

Gabrielle’s desire is to complete her bachelor’s degree and become an accountant. She has remained on the Dean’s Honor Roll for all 3 semesters, maintained her GPA while working and volunteering in addition to beginning an internship this year to focus on gaining hands-on experience in the accounting field.

Gabrielle is incredibly active in her community working with young children volunteering at her local Catholic church, coaching a softball team of ten-year-olds and teaching at children’s summer camps. Gabrielle prides herself on attending mass every Sunday and remaining involved with her church activities no matter how busy her schedule becomes with schoolwork and volunteerism.

Elizabeth Snow, Fire Chief of Wichita State Fire Department, states that Gabrielle is a respectful young woman and has shown that she is motivated to succeed in the classroom while working two jobs to support herself financially while also remaining involved in her community.

Gabrielle’s previous scholarships were made possible with support from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the MissionSquare Retirement Memorial Scholarship Fund, the National Association of State Fire Marshals, and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
