Scholarship Recipient

Michaela Clark

Major: Animal Science & Industry - Pre-vet
Academic Scholarship Years:
Daughter of
Michaela Clark

Michaela is currently a freshman attending Kansas State University pursuing her bachelor’s degree in animal science. Michaela’s career goal is to obtain her master’s degree and become certified in chiropractic work for animals followed by opening her own practice.

She joined the pre-vet club during her first semester. The pre-vet club introduces her to veterinarians around the state and provides her professional connections as she determines where she wishes to specialize in animal care. The club also allows Michaela to gain hands-on experience treating animals. She also volunteers with the Rodeo club where she assists with cleaning up after school events. In her spare time, Michaela provides community service to the school by cleaning the student union.

Fire Chief Daniel Gaestel says, “Prior to her father’s passing, Michaela was always at the firehouse with him, helping where she could. She always volunteered to help with our annual fundraiser. After her father’s passing, she worked part-time jobs to assist the family throughout high school Michaela, like her family, has always dedicated herself to the service of others.”

Michaela’s previous scholarship was made possible with support from
Motorola Solutions Foundation and the Engine Company 5 Foundation.
