Olivia attributes receiving the NFFF scholarship to being able to focus on her studies and maintaining her 4.0 GPA. She continues to make the President’s list and is currently on track to do so again this semester. Olivia shares that with the help of our scholarship program, her family has been able to survive, cope, and succeed amid tragedy by putting the broken pieces back together and look forward to the future albeit different than they had planned.

Having her full tuition and book cost paid for, when she is not studying, she can be found volunteering with Rotoract, where they focus on community clean up and providing services to the homeless. She participated in “Carry the Load” by walking from Minneapolis to Dallas in 2021 and will do so again this May, but on the east coast route. This walk is important to her because they will stop at the Florida National Cemetery where her father is buried.

Hernando County Local 3760 Secretary writes, “Olivia has the drive and determination like no other, and those two qualities will make her an exceptional teacher. I know she will represent this scholarship with honor, dignity, and pride.”

Olivia’s previous scholarships were made possible with support from the
Motorola Solutions Foundation and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
