Samuel’s career goal is to become either a pediatric nurse at a pediatric hospital or a trauma nurse in an ER or intensive care unit.

Samuel is a member of the Beta Omicron, Theta Chi fraternity at the University of Cincinnati. The fraternity participates in community service throughout the Cincinnati area, including raising money for the USO. He plans to join the Men in Nursing organization at the University of Cincinnati. From fall 2023-spring 2024, he volunteered with the organization Reading Buddies, reading to first graders at a local elementary school.

Harrison Township Fire Chief Michael Crist says Sam has shown “incredible resilience and leadership qualities,” which are reminiscent of his father. He describes Sam as kind and generous. Science teacher John Yingling mentions Sam’s positive attitude, hard work, and dedication as qualities that helped him win Troy High School’s Vesper Award for all around outstanding student and person.
