In remembrance of the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, members of the public will join area firefighters to climb the stairs of the Lucas Oil Stadium in honor of the 343 firefighters from the FDNY who gave their lives while trying to save others.

Join the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) on August 6, 2021, for the 2021 FDIC 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Lucas Oil Stadium. Each participant will pay tribute to a FDNY firefighter by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

Registration is $35. Everyone will receive a photo ID of one of the fallen heroes of September 11th. Onsite registration will begin at 9:00 am with Opening Ceremonies beginning at 1:00 pm. The 2021 FDIC 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will start at 1:30 pm.

“The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is an opportunity for anyone in the community to demonstrate respect and admiration for these courageous men who gave their lives trying to save others. It’s also a way to show their loved ones that we will never forget them,” said National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Executive Director Ron Siarnicki. “We want to be sure that each of those firefighters is represented by someone climbing the stairs at the Lucas Oil Stadium.”

The Stair Climbs fund the programs provided by the NFFF to support the families of your local fallen firefighters and the FDNY Counseling Services Unit. For more information about the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, go to www.firehero.org.
