Senator Paul Sarbanes Scholarship

Scholarship Recipient

Breann Geringer

Major: Education
Academic Scholarship Years:
Daughter of
Breann Geringer

Breann graduated with her A.A. degree with no debt. She attributes this to the Sarbanes Scholarships program and how it held her accountable academically. Breann will be transferring to the University of Colorado, Denver to complete her B.A. in Education and become an Elementary school teacher.

After losing her father at age 8, she helped take care of her younger siblings and she thinks she will be able to carry these lessons over to be an inspirational teacher. Breann is currently working full-time as a Paraprofessional at an Elementary school. When not working or studying, she volunteers at several athletic events within her school district.

Elementary Teacher Tunink writes, “On a professional level, I have had the pleasure of working with Breann for two years at Fowler Elementary School District. As a paraprofessional, she is very passionate about education. She shows a great desire to educate children and has patience and understanding in Special Needs education that will make her a great asset to any school district.”

Breann’s previous scholarships were made possible with support from
Motorola Solutions Foundation and Engine Company 5 Foundation.
