Twelve FDNY firefighters died as a result of the 23rd Street fire on October 17, 1966.

Watch Highlights from the 2022 National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend

America’s fallen fire heroes, who died in the line of duty, were honored at the 41st Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend on October 8-9, 2022. The names of 148 firefighters became a permanent part of the National Memorial in honor of their sacrifices.
