Robert ‘Jonesy’ Jones‚ 48‚ a member of the Unity Volunteer Fire Department‚ died on his birthday‚ January 12‚ 2000‚ of a heart attack at a structure fire. He had served as Chief of the department from 1990-1998. Jones was also the Waldo County Sheriff.
