Alan and I served in the US Army, Alaska Command together during the Vietnam War period. After our discharge we bought an old rattly pickup and wandered south to Tucson where we continued skydiving and enjoying the desert heat. Alan was always there to help others by guiding them toward a path that would achieve their full potential. He was perhaps the finest man I knew and will always be a friend in my heart.
