Anthony N. Mauro

Anthony N. Mauro was born April 14, 1988, in New York City, New York. Tony was a beloved father and husband and the best friend and colleague that anyone could ask for. He was a six-year veteran of the FDNY. He tragically lost his long-fought battle with grade-4 glioblastoma brain cancer on January 27, 2023. Tony was a devoted and loving family man, leaving behind his wife, Ally, and two young children, Chiara and Anthony.

Tony loved his job and was so proud to be a firefighter. During his time off, he loved traveling and making memories with his family. Tony was fearless, authentic, and lived each day to the fullest. Tony was someone you could always count on, and he did whatever he could to help others. He found laughter, even in some of the most difficult of times. He was a true light in the world who inspired all who knew him and even those who did not have the opportunity to. He taught us to never give up and to fight ’til the very end. Tony departed this earth on a high note and was finally at peace after so much suffering. Knowing he is at rest with the Lord brings comfort to his family and friends, who miss him every day and love him so very much.
