Brian Ray Morgan

Brian Ray Morgan was born on May 6, 1974, and passed away on October 24, 2020, at age 46.

He was deputy chief of the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department, where he had served for 28 years. He received many awards and accomplishments in his career, including several lifesaving awards. Becoming deputy chief was his biggest accomplishment. Brian was remembered as intelligent and action oriented. He was instrumental in making positive changes in the fire department over the years. Known as “Papa Bear” to some at the station, he had a passion for helping others and serving his community. He was dedicated and served well.

Brian was a loving husband, father, and son. Gatlinburg was one of Brian’s comfort places and one of his favorite places to spend time with family. He loved to start fires in the fire pit at our cabin and cook hotdogs. The kids’ favorite part was to make s’mores with their dad. Brian enjoyed playing different sports throughout his life, including softball, bowling, and especially basketball. He was a mentor, a leader, and a trusted friend to many. He was committed to the crusade for children. He loved classical music and baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs.

He is survived by the love of his life, Brittany (Cassady) Morgan, and his children, Bryce, Brayden, Brody, and Brennan. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Brieana Morgan, and his mother, Mary Ann (Krazeise) Morgan.
