Brian T. Fitzgerald, 71, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A former resident of Belle Harbor, New York, he had been a resident of Bonita Springs since 2018. Born on July 11, 1953, in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Hugh and Mary (McCormick) Fitzgerald.

Brian attended Franklin Pierce University in Rindge before embarking on a distinguished career as a firefighter with the New York City Fire Department. He proudly served as a first responder at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, where he played a vital role in the search and recovery efforts. Brian owned Belle Harbor Pest Control and worked as a lifeguard at Rockaway Beach. He was a proud member of the Emerald Society and was an avid fan of the New York Giants. Brian enjoyed playing golf and traveling, but above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends.

Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Patricia (Byrnes) Fitzgerald; his loving children, Kaitlyn Fitzgerald, Kevin T. (Lauren) Fitzgerald, and Brendan (Kayla) Fitzgerald; his brothers, Keith (Beth) Hartmann and Paul Hartmann; and his cherished grandchildren, Juliette, Saoirse, and Ciaran.
