Firefighter Charles Wad “Charlie” Lummus, age 46, of the Dumas Fire Department, died on July 29, 1956, in an explosion during at the Shamrock Oil and Gas Company.
He is survived by his wife Geneva and siblings Mary, Josie, James, and Maud.
The National Emergency Training Center (NETC) campus will be closed during the government shutdown, including access to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
