Christopher Edward Rothmeyer

Christopher Edward Rothmeyer was a loving and dedicated son born to Dustin and Sharon Rothmeyer. He was also a caring, loving, and devoted big brother to Emma and Zoey and had an inherent passion for helping others even as a child.

Christopher’s love for helping others took on a deeper level as he joined the EMS Explorer Program. His passion for helping others grew as he made the decision to begin EMT classes while still attending high school. After graduating high school and completing his EMT classes, he began his career.

Christopher began his career with American Transmed. He worked on the ambulance side of this company and loved helping the community. He expanded his community service passion by becoming a member of the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department. Eventually, Christopher was presented with the opportunity to work for Stanly County EMS, an opportunity that meant a great deal to him, and he made lifelong friends along this journey. Christopher then joined the Davidson County EMS and advanced his career. While there, he also became a member of the New London Volunteer Fire Department. Eventually, he accepted a position at Providence Transport. Along his career path, Christopher was honored with the local Home Town Hero Award.

As much as Christopher loved being a son and brother, his main love and passion was his career as an EMT. This was a lifelong dream of his, and he fulfilled his dream and passion. He loved helping others.

Christopher was a family man. He loved spending time with his family at cookouts, as well as fishing and camping. Christopher had the biggest heart and loved helping his community and neighbors. Whether it was volunteering at the fire department BBQ fundraisers or stopping to help during an accident or responding to calls in the middle of the night, this was his passion and what he loved to do.

Christopher overcame many obstacles in life and felt very fortunate to be living his dream. He will be remembered for his loving and caring nature. The community describes him as a gentle giant known for big teddy bear hugs and his unwavering love and compassion for others. The lives he touched in his short life are amazing. God gave us the privilege to have him in our lives for 27 years. We are all better for knowing and loving him, and we are blessed to have seen his smile and be a part of his life. He will forever live in our hearts and memories.
