  7. I also have the honor and privilege of being able to say that Danny was my cousin and he will forever be my hero. You would have never met a more genuine, loving, man who lived to help others. On this day almost every year, I seem to get visits from Danny as to let us know that he’s okay and he’s exactly where he should be. The Bible states that there is no greater gift for a man to give another by laying down his own life for another. On this day 18 years ago, the world lost thousands of beautiful souls, hundreds of men and women who instantly stepped into action as heros and put on their capes as they climbed up into what could only be thought to be as terrifying as the very gates of hell. The world was shown the measure of evil and hate in the hearts of men who choose to neglect the very ideals and actions that make us human and as a response these heros banded as brothers and gave the ultimate sacrifice in order to combat the very evil that slithered its way into our country on today’s date those 19 years ago. My thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be with all of those who’s lives crumbled in a matter of seconds. If there is any silver lining here, let it be that we honor the bravest men and women of all time and remember that no matter what, we will stand tall and firm in our resolve and we will fight for this beautiful country that so many have laid down their lives for. I love you all for taking the time over the years to share your stories and your love for Danny. May we never forget the hate that attacked us in our homes and the ordinary men and women who fought that hate with the greatest love we as humans are capable of. I love and miss you so much Danny, almost as much as your wine. You are my hero cuz and I pray that it’s not too long until we meet again. Thank you for being the greatest man this family has ever seen.

  12. Remember your collection bottle at deli in Penn Station next to Amtrak police. Got my breakfast there for along time. Nice to see that you were a great cook. I’m half Italian myself. I mentioned to my wife after that day. I hope that she introduced herself to you. My wife Deborah. She’s in heaven where you are. Deb & I were married 34 years. The reason I hope she introduced herself is, she is a gourmet cook. You have to try her sauce that I helped her perfect. Dan, please let her sample your sauce. You would really be amazed what I gradient that really improves the color and and cuts down the acidity. Deb passed away January 30. I miss her so much. Mr. Libretti, I really hope that we get to shake hands someday. Keep on cooking. Nick
