Edwin Morgan was born in South Side section of Pittsburgh, He became a firefighter on January 3, 1918, and became captain in 1928. He was Captain of Engine Company #59 at the time of his death. At the time, he was a widower with two children, a son and a daughter. He died at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
