My father was a dedicated volunteer, who spent countless hours fighting fires, organizing data, working for countless volunteer fire organizations, both local, and county. Had the highest score on his tests for Suffolk county fire coordinator, being offered the head position for this job. He was also department captain, who designed all the specs for the Sumpwams Hose Co. fire truck. He severed as department chaplain and served as the volunteer for the boys outs who were working on their fire safety merit badge. He helped countless new members to his company and always opened his home to them and their families. He was an usher in our St. Joseph Catholic Church and became a baliff in our local court. He was a cherished member of the Babylon community who honored him in 3 days of calling hours, and a funeral procession thru town. A true fire fighter and dedicated volunteer!
