Gregory Scott Carter‚ 24‚ a volunteer firefighter with the Fairlea Volunteer Fire Department‚ died of asphyxiation while trapped in a burning grocery store on January 21‚ 1998. He worked at a car dealership next door and had been with the department for nearly 7 years.
