Firefighter James Michael Hicks, age 43, of the Fire Department City of New York – Engine 7, died on July 25, 2015, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
He was the beloved husband of Allison (nee Manger), the loving father of Ryan, Casey, and Meghan, and the dear son of Diane and the late James.
I was honored to Climb for James this year at FDIC. As a 3rd generation firefighter that lost a very close brother and mentor who passed from 9/11 related cancer, I felt this loss deeply. 67 minutes to climb 2,200 stairs. I am sorry for his family’s loss. RIP Brother. I will never forget.
