Firefighter John B. O’Brien, 60, of the Fire Department City of New York – Engine 329, died on July 30, 2017, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

Originally from the Bronx, he was a resident of Rockaway, Queens, for 44 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen O’Brien (nee Claire); his children, Claire O’Brien and John O’Brien (Kathleen); brothers, Thomas O’Brien and James O’Brien; sister, Mary O’Sullivan; grandchildren, Matthew, Brayden, Riley, and Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.
