Firefighter John Beruck of Engine 2, died on December 31, 1974 after suffering a heart attack while opening the skylights of the Silverchem building on W. Elizabeth Ave, during a fire. Firefighter Beruck was born on July 4, 1927 and was a Navy Veteran.
