Joseph Robida

Joseph F. Robida, age 42, of the Pueblo Fire Department was tragically killed on May 9th, 1945, while responding to a fire alarm. He was riding on the back of the truck when a collision with a bread truck occurred and threw him from the truck. He was 42 years old at the time of his death, leaving behind a wife and four children.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
