Juan M. Hernandez‚ Jr.‚ 21‚ a career firefighter with the US Forest Service‚ Lincoln National Forest‚ died on September 4‚ 1998 when his apparatus overturned after being hit by a car. He was en route to an assignment at Mendocino National Forest in Alamogordo‚ CA.
