Larry Baldwin

Firefighter Larry Baldwin, age 25, of the Bossier City Fire Department died on September 3, 1963 from exposure to lethal gases during a rescue in an underground sewer lift station.

 

Larry is survived by his wife; two sons Michael and Ray; mother and stepfather Mr. and Mrs. George R. Walsworth; father Louis Baldwin; brothers Bobby and Terry; and sister Eleanor Butler.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
