Logan D. Fields‚ 51‚ a career deputy chief with the Hazard Fire Department died of a heart attack on August 12‚ 2000. Fields was a member of the Water Rescue Team and helped set up the area’s 911 system. He also served as chief of a nearby volunteer fire department.
