Firefighter Loren H. Desler (Engine #6), age 28, died from smoke inhalation after searching for trapped workers at the Swanson Office Building while working at Engine #20 on June 4, 1965.
Firefighter Desler was married and father of four children. He was laid to rest at Graceland Park Cemetery in Omaha.
