Malcolm Sherrod Willis

Malcolm Sherrod Willis, 24, of Houston departed this life July 13, 2022, at home. He was born on February 11, 1998, in Houston, Texas, to Michael and Alicia Willis. He was preceded in death by his grandparent, Richard Willis II.

Malcolm attended high school in the Spring Independent School District. He played on the varsity football team at Westfield High and graduated in the top ten percent of his class, maintaining his standings in the National Honor Society throughout high school. After graduation, Malcolm was accepted to Texas A&M in College Station, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. While at Texas A&M, Malcolm pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Nu Delta Delta Chapter, in the spring of 2019, on the 3 Sons of Chaos Line. Malcolm was the “Deuce” and took on the line name of “2 Icey” (part of which was his father’s nickname, “Ice”). Malcolm loved his fraternity and was most proud to be in an organization that embodied the many qualities and a creed that he lived by daily.

Malcolm joined the Houston Fire Department on November 16, 2020, and he loved serving and working as a firefighter. Malcolm worked tirelessly at many stations throughout the Houston area. He loved his second family (HFD) and his 48D brothers. He served faithfully.

Malcolm believed and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He loved volunteering at Fallbrook Church.

Malcolm leaves to cherish his memories, his loving parents, Michael and Alicia Willis; two siblings, Michael Willis II (DeAndrea) and Morgan Willis, both of Houston; two nephews, Chuvez Wynn-Autry and Ayden Brown, both of Houston; one niece, Zayna Willis of Houston; grandparents, William Thomas of Columbus, Georgia, Shirley Alfred of Houston, Peter Mosby of Chicago, Illinois, and Ilona Mosby of Houston; four special friend-brothers, Blane Cannon, Blake Cannon, Forrester “Trey” Goodrich, and Esra Bridon, all of Houston; his girlfriend, Ariel Seals, of Atascocita, Texas; and a host of loving relatives and friends. We cherish Malcolm’s smile, but most importantly the love he shared with us all.

What was, still is.
