Age: 62
Year of Death: 2019

Manuel Ramos Jr.

Manuel “Manny” Ramos Jr. was born on April 30, 1957, in Pico Rivera, California, to Manuel and Rosie Ramos. He attended El Rancho High School and had a passion for running track. He set records that remain unbroken to this day. After high school, Manny attended Rio Hondo College, where he received an Associate of Science in fire science. In 1979, Manny joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Manny dedicated 33 years to serving the county of Los Angeles. During his career, Manny served the communities of San Dimas and Roland Heights. He also served in various Los Angeles County fire camps. For his service, Manny was promoted to fire captain in 2000. He was dedicated to the firefighter brotherhood and was a proud member of the honor guard. He enjoyed cooking delicious meals for his fellow firefighters at his station and was a fantastic cook.

Manny developed a hobby for real estate and travel. He had a love for the aloha spirit of the Hawaiian island, Maui. He planned to retire with his wife, Deanna, to their home on Maui before his tragic passing on September 8, 2019, soon after being diagnosed with cancer.

Captain Ramos is survived by his wife, Deanna; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jennifer; sisters, Diane, Rose, Cindy, and Carolyn; and mother, Rosie; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is deeply missed and will always be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
