Mark Fowl passed away on December 19, 2022, at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones who continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Mark was born in Glendale, Arizona, the same city he would later serve. Mark’s childhood was spent moving frequently, from England to Florida, making new friends along the way. Mark graduated from Arizona State University in 1986 and shortly thereafter started a fulfilling career with a local Arizona environmental entity.
In 2002, Mark answered his calling by becoming a firefighter with the Glendale Fire Department. Though he would have denied it himself, Mark was described as the “perfect fireman,” finding a career that married his compassion and call to service.
Mark’s humor, kindness, and generosity leave an incredible legacy in both his community and the lives of those who loved him. He had an uncanny ability to bring light to the darkest of situations and make good times better. Mark’s personality was contagious to everyone he met, and he will be remembered as a loving husband, incredible father, talented firefighter, and a one-of-a-kind individual.
