Michael J. Cawley‚ 32‚ firefighter‚ FDNY‚ Ladder 136. He was having breakfast at Rescue 4 when the call came in to go to the World Trade Center. A graduate of State University College in Oswego‚ Cawley always wanted to be a firefighter. After years of working second jobs‚ he had finally bought his dream house.
It was a humbling experience and an honor to do the 9/11 memorial stair walk and to ring the bell in your name. You are a true hero that will never be forgotten.

I cannot imagine the pain of losing him at such a young age but he is a hero and I know I will never forget him or the others who gave their lives in efforts to save others on that horrific day.
