Paschel Lavert Pool Sr.

Firefighter Paschel Lavert Pool Sr., age 31, of the Dumas Fire Department, died on July 29, 1956, in an explosion during at the Shamrock Oil and Gas Company.

Paschel was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Pacific during World War II.

He is survived by his wife Jeraldine; sons Ernest and Paschel; and siblings Delphine, Ernest, Woodrow, Joye, Pearl, Mearle, Jasper, and Barbara.

This firefighter line of duty fatality occurred before the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial was built in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While this firefighter has not been officially honored at the Memorial site, there are plans to do so when resources are available.
