Paul A. Brotherton‚ 41‚ a 16-year veteran of the Worcester Fire Department‚ died on December 3‚ 1999‚ after he and another firefighter became trapped while conducting search and rescue and fire operations in a cold storage warehouse fire. Five other firefighters died in the same incident. An Air Force veteran‚ Brotherton worked part-time as a carpenter.
