Paul E. Cooper‚ 27‚ a firefighter with the Hoopa Volunteer Fire Department‚ died on his birthday‚ February 14‚ 2000‚ of injuries sustained three days earlier when the fire truck hit a tree as he responded to a call. He was very dedicated and planned to make firefighting his career.
