Peter S. Avila served his Brownsville Community for 21 years before his passing. He was a devoted serviceman for his fellow community and loved his profession. Peter was a proud part of the Airport Rescue Firefighter team.

Peter was part of a family history of firefighters. His father, Engineer Pete Avila, Jr.; brother, Lieutenant Richard Avila; brother, Engineer Daniel Avila; and sister-in-law, Engineer Cindy Puente; served the Brownsville Fire Department until each retired.

Peter was also a military veteran who served with the U.S. Navy for four years.

Peter always excelled in his accomplishments. He was a happy, joking person and was a well-liked firefighter among his peers.

He has been dearly missed by his peers and by his wife, Lupita Trevino Avila.
