Richard B. McCurley

Submitted by his brother-in-law

Today‚ we lost our brother-in-law who was a hero during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. His name is Richard McCurley‚ a proud New Orleans Firefighter. Not only was he a fireman‚ he was the proud husband of Kyndel McCurley and father of 4 year old Kai McCurley. He passed away in an accident responding to a gas leak in New Orleans.

He stayed during the hurricanes in one of the hardest hit areas of New Orleans rescuing people as he was being shot at.

He will be missed by his family‚ friends and the City of New Orleans for his heroic efforts and the love he had for his wife and child who were the heart and soul of his life.
