Robert A. “Bobby” Jones

In Loving Memory of Robert Anthony “Bobby” Jones
August 22, 1962 – January 20, 2022
The myth. The man. The legend.

Robert Anthony Jones, affectionately known as Bobby, was a man of few words but boundless dedication. He was a devoted firefighter, paramedic, engineer, supervisor, retired fire lieutenant, and HERO. Bobby dedicated over 44 years to the fire service, answering every call with courage and compassion.

From his early days as a junior volunteer with Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company to serving at Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Department, Lansdowne Volunteer Fire Company, and Cape St. Claire Volunteer Fire Company, his passion for service never wavered. Rising through the ranks, he made history as Baltimore County’s first Black fire captain and later served as a lieutenant with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

Bobby’s legacy lives on in the lives he saved, the firefighters he mentored, and the community he loved. His bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication will never be forgotten.

You will always be our hero.
