Robert D. Pollard‚ 64‚ a volunteer with the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District‚ died on January 1‚ 2000‚ of a brain aneurysm after collapsing earlier en route to a brush fire. He was a past board member of the District and was instrumental in getting 911 in Stone County.
