Firefighter Robert F. DiGiovanni, age 56, of the Fire Department City of New York – Ladder 144, died on January 27, 2017, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

He served as a firefighter in New York City for the FDNY from 1990 to 2005.

His illness from the cleanup at Ground Zero was detected in 2003.

He loved being a fireman, and he loved the city of New York.

He died in 2017, leaving his wife and two children.
