Robert J. O’Toole

Bobb was a part-time Firefighter/EMT with Centerville/WashingtonTownship for four years and had just started part-time with Clearcreek Township in Dcember 1997. He always wanted to be a fireman. With 2 part-time jobs he considered himself a full timer. He was attending Sinclair Community College for Paramedic Training.

Bobb and his squad had responded to a black ice accident about 6:oo am on Interstate 675 and Wilmington Pike. After the passenger was put in the transport, Bobb, his partner Chuck, and John Kalaman (a police officer) returned to the crash vehicle to disconnect the battery. Another vehicle lost control on the black ice, crossed the median, and struck the three men. Officer Kalaman was killed instantly. Bobb and his partner were CareFlighted to the hospital. Bobb died in the Emergency Room. His partner luckily survived, but with severe injuries.

Bobb was survived by a wife, his parents, two sisters, two brothers and nieces & nephew.
