Robert O. Lee‚ 56‚ Fire Chief of the North River Volunteer Fire Department died of a heart attack following a training drill at a nursing home in Baker on September 30‚ 1998. A Sunday School teacher‚ he was a Vietnam veteran and received the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Achievement. He had been with the fire department for 27 years‚ serving as its Chief for the last 7 years.
