Firefighter Ronald J. Smeller Jr., age 57, of the Ellicott Creek Volunteer Fire Company died on March 10, 2020, from illness related to his response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
The National Emergency Training Center (NETC) campus will be closed during the government shutdown, including access to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
