Firefighter Ronald P. Stortz, age 53, of the Fire Department City of New York – Ladder 107, died on January 16, 2021, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

Ronald P. Stortz of Freeport, New York, died on January 16, 2021, due to rescue efforts at the Twin Towers.

He retired from the Fire Department of New York after serving as a firefighter with Ladder 107 and Engine 225, Battalion 39. He was also a member of Truck Co # 1 with the Freeport Fire Department.

He was the beloved husband of Patricia, loving father of Ryan and Eric, dear brother of Alex (Tania), Eleanor Dowd, and Elizabeth Sibley, fond uncle of four nieces and six nephews, and best friend of Raymond Rothfritz.
