Thomas E. Spencer‚ 42‚ a 21-year veteran of the Worcester Fire Department‚ died in the December 3‚ 1999‚ warehouse fire‚ while searching for two trapped firefighters. Five other firefighters also died in this incident. A life-long Worcester resident‚ he was involved in many church and community youth activities‚ including scouting‚ soccer and Little League. His brother is also a member of the Worcester department.
